Way behind!

So its been a long while since I have last blogged. What a horrible mom! But that doesn't mean we dont have pics from those last months!

Kiptyn has 8 teeth now and is 24 pounds. He is wearing 18 month clothes! He got back last week from his first trip to California with daddy. He came back waving the royal wave! It is pretty cute. He made many friends on his trip, no surprise there! He of course has solid poops when he was in CA and then came home back to his normal diarrhea. He and I have started seeing a chiropractor hoping that is will help his torticollis in some way. He is still favoring one hand over the other when eating. He is crawling all over the place, pulling up on everything, babbling up a storm and taking some steps while holding onto things. Little Kiptyn sure does know how to get into trouble! :) Such a boy.

Haley is doing well. She is coming up with new words and phrases every day. She goes to preschool twice a week for 3 hours and loves it. She is shy, but is aware of everything! She is a little mother as well. H helps me with Kiptyn all the time, but only when it's convenient for her! She is also the typical almost three year old attitude! She once told us at dinner one night that is the food was friggin hot! Talk about a mouth dropper on that one! She loves to play with play dough, coloring and dancing. She starts gymnastics on Monday, so hopefully I can get some good pictures of that!

Now for some Halloween event pics to start off our Halloween weekend!

4th of July festivities

We started out bright and early with a Walk to Remember in honor of our loving little Kylie. It was a walk through the Compassionate Friends organization, which supports families who have lost a child. We walked two miles!
Then we met Mimi and Papi for brunch for Mimi's birthday. It was an interesting time as Haley had pooped in her undies! Fun times. But it was yummy and we left full of course. We then had a great nap when we got home.
After we woke up, we went the wonderful McCabe's house for some delicious food! We surprised Jennifer with an ice cream birthday cake! :) Haley enjoyed it of course! Then we came home and went to bed.
It was a good 4th, other than missing Kylie and her matching outfit that the other two kiddos had on.

One stop along the way.

Haley changes Kiptyn's diaper!

This morning Haley decided she wanted to change Kiptyn's diaper! What a great help! Good thing it was only pee! But she unbuttoned his pjs and took off his old diaper. It was pretty cute. Too bad I didn't have a camera to take a picture of it all. :(

Kiptyn's first tooth!

He finally had a tooth cut through the gums on Sunday! It still has been rough going though. Poor guy.

Kiptyn's swallow study

On Monday, Kiptyn had his swallow study at the hospital. Basically they give him barium to drink in different bottles. The first one has no thickener, the second a little thickener and the third the thickest. They put him in front of an xray machine and they watch how he drinks. It is pretty neat to watch. He aspirated (meaning the liquid goes into his lungs) the first one. He aspirated the second one. The third one he did fine on, using a cross cut or level 3 nipple. He has a swallow delay which is why he aspirates on it because he cant get it down fast enough before it gets into his lungs. Kinda scary. Good to know now of course. I just wish we would've done this test 5 months ago.

Anyways, he now has to have a liquid thickener in his bottle instead of rice cereal. Of course this stuff isn't cheap either. I have found it much cheaper on ebay! :) Also got a not so smart cashier and got a box of 50 packets for $1.79, reg price is $35. Oops. :)

We just have to be really careful now with what we give him. We go back for another test in 6-8 months. Hopefully this is something he will outgrow.

Haley's school picnic and last day. :(

Haley's school had a couple farm animals come to school the day before the last day. She of course loved it. It was very out and buggy that day! Then she got her face painted and rode a bike, which she can now pedal on her own! :) Then I had her show me her chalk bodies. The teacher said she loved having them draw around her in chalk. She is pretty goofy! Then we went home for a nap!
The following day was her last day at school and it happened to be the day that I worked. Not sure what I was thinking, but it was fun. I took some pictures of the kids and hung out with Kiptyn! I am already missing not having her in school! Sept can't come soon enough!

Here is Kiptyn and Charlie hanging out.
