Kiptyn had his milk test yesterday and he PASSED!!! It was a 3 hour
appt in the office to monitor him if he has a reaction to the milk. It was a LONG morning! They started with 1
mL, then you wait 15
mins and then they go up to 2
mL and so on. The last one is 90
mL and then you have to wait 45
mins to see if there is any reaction. They also took his blood pressure every 15
mins to see if there were any spikes or dips. It was rough, but overall he did
ok. He was just cranky cause he was so hungry!
This morning he had his first bowl of yogurt! It was so exciting to be able to feed the kids the same food! He of course loved it. He even has a cup of milk this morning. Of course he hasn't drank it, but he has taken some sips! It's so nice to not have to check the labels before giving him some food!
We also had a pulmonologist appt right after the allergy appt, so we were in the office for 4 hours! He didn't have too much to say other than he looks and sounds great! Which of course is great news! We have to keep doing the nebulizer treatments and start giving him nose spray before bed. We just have to keep his nose and airways clear and we should be all good! I really do like our new pulmonologist, he is much more helpful! He also called us cute yesterday! Talk about bonus points! ha. We will continue what we are doing and go back in two months.
Last week he had another swallow study and he doesn't aspirate anymore! He has some penetration, but it doesn't go into his airway. So we have started the sippy cup and he is on thin liquids! It has been an exciting week! Things are starting to look up!
We go for another synagis shot today, if of course we can get out of our driveway! It is a sheet of ice.
All for now, we see the GI doc on Friday for another follow up. We are doing well with that as well as we have been on miralax for about 2 weeks now and he has had solid poops since Sat! Like I said, we are getting there!
Yesterday he was 25 pounds and 4.4 ounces and just over 32 inches tall (which could be wrong as he was 32.5 at his 1 year checkup). You know how those measuring things go when they are small, not exactly accurate! We will see what they say on Friday!
