AquaBaby...coming to a screen near you!

Sat 29 May 2010
Kiptyn made his swimsuit debut yesterday at the community pool in his
spider-baby suit!

"I shall be known as 'AquaBaby' henceforth he whispered to daddy.

Kiptyn:
"Just so I wouldn't take off and save the world, daddy held me down with a kryptonite vest (yes, I share the same weakness as Superman) but see my fists are ready for action!"

"Meanwhile, back at the ranch..." Haley was testing her emsemble. She wanted to make sure that she could still outswim me in my Aquasuit! Fat Chance!!! Notice that her suit isn't as tight as mine! I will conquer the aquaworld!

When I proved to daddy that I could handle my own, he let Haley hug me once before he shipped me off on the 'KiptynShip'. The tutu-like design on the ship is a camouflage.

Toward the end and after a quick snack of banana (baby food), we packed up and headed home on the HK-Mobile (Haley wanted to be carried so I got to ride with
all our gear!)

Never forgotten

There of course isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about our sweet Kylie. I still remember this day like it was yesterday! It was a day of joy and happiness...also a day where I was so excited to be able to walk around the grocery store without using an electric cart! Our little girl was born hungry, had her tongue sticking out when she came out of the womb. She fit right into this family, always hungry!

We often wonder what she would be like now babbling away and smiling and whose personality she would be like. We miss her like crazy and she will always be in our hearts.

I could just stare at her cute little face all day long!

Bath time for Kiptyn

Kiptyn use to hate bath time. He would just scream and scream, but he finally is enjoying it.

He is already starting to want to hold the sprayer now...this could get dangerous!

Sunday

Sunday before church we were hanging out trying to get the kids ready. Here are some cute pictures!

She loves putting on daddy's headphones!

I just love this outfit! Of course it has my fav flowers on it, which probably helps, but I also love pink and brown together!

Rocknoceros Rocked out for Kylie Xiu (our Kylie too)

Last Saturday, we attended a fundraiser for the SIDS Mid-Atlantic group. They hold meetings once a month for parents who have lost a child under the age of 1. They have been very helpful for me and we have met a lot of amazing people. It is not a group of people you want to have to meet, but I am glad that I have met all of them. They have all been so nice, welcoming and supportive. We all share a common bond which makes it even more special. I am very blessed to have met these people.
Anyways, moving to the point. The Clifford family lost their little Kylie to SIDS 7 years ago and have a fundraiser every year. This year they happened to have Rocknoceros play at the elementary school where Kat (Kylie's mother) teaches. We decided to go for a couple reasons, A. I love Rocknoceros and B. it was for a great cause and I wanted to meet the parents of little Kylie. We had a great time. Haley was a little sleepy due to waking up early after going to bed late, but she still had a blast. We ended up spending a good amount of money, but got some good stuff to show for it other than it going to a great cause. We wont 10 free open plays at Wee Play in Reston, a gift card to a shop (this will be a gift), 3 hours of an architect to come to the house, a Tastefully Simple basket and a bunch of gift cards to yummy restaurants. Two of which went to my parents for just being awesome and a moving gift.

The band playing.

Not a great picture, but its the only one of Kiptyn.

The little acrobat.

She just had a blast on the playground.

Thank you Clifford family for sharing your story and for a fun time on a Saturday afternoon!

Some random cuteness

Haley loves to clumb into Kiptyn's crib and play with him. This was when he started pulling hair!

This was at the festival for FCMOM. Haley loves these fishing poles!

Haley doing her favorite activity: eating cake!

Another one in the crib playing together.

Daddy wearing Kiptyn.

Kiptyn holding his own bottle when the mood stikes.

Lunch out with Maritza

Maritza joined us for lunch at Red Robin one day and we had a blast. Haley was great and Kiptyn was until the food came! Haley watched Dora on TV and then played with her balloon that the server gave her. Kiptyn was just cracking up at the balloon, it was super cute. That is when we broke out the camera and started taking pictures!

Here is me with the two kiddos, Kipyn wouldnt take his eyes off the balloon!

Haley starring up at her balloon, this was before it went to the ceiling twice!

Look at that face! Just couldn't get enough of that balloon. It was super cute.

Need I say anymore?

Haley and daddy swim class

Haley and daddy took a swim class on Saturday mornings with their friends Ellie and Ryan. Daddy finally took some pictures with the new waterproof camera on the last day of class.

Notice the unmatching bathing suit that daddy dressed her in!

Haley about to jump in!

Play time.
They are very excited that the pools are opening this weekend! Kiptyn will get to swim for the first time!

A morning at Frying Pan Park!

One morning we went to meet our friends at Frying Pan Park! Haley loved it this time around. She is so much more into animals and talking about them. It was a bunch of fun. It was one of those hot days as well, but we survived!

Here is Haley with the piglets behind her. As usual she takes wonderful pictures!

Kiptyn all smiles in the stroller!

Haley riding the tractor!
We hope to go back again this summer!

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, I took the kids to church by myself while LT stayed home doing yard work. Lucky me! It turned out ok though and we had a good time, other than me being an emotional wreck. Then after naps we went to my parents house and had a nice steak dinner there. Our original plan was to go to Texas de Brazil, but they were booked, so we did that Tuesday night. We had a great time!

Me with the kids!

Papi holding Kiptyn while Mimi was teaching Haley to use tongs to eat cheerios!

Kiptyn's 6 month appt.

This is a little late, as usual. But here is Kiptyn at his 6 month appt with Papi. He of course is a lil chunker! He was 21 pounds 14 ounces and 28.5 inches tall! He is over the 95th percentile in both of those, his head is in the 50th! The actual day of 6 months was a rough day for us, so we didn't get a chance to celebrate it. We waited two days and celebrated then. We got him an ice cream cake, which we enjoyed of course! Here is a picture of Kiptyn with his cake.

Here he is just hanging out in his highchair while the rest of us eat the cake! Yummy!

Botanical Gardens

One Sunday LT needed to go to work, so we drove into the city. I dropped him off and took the kids to the botanical gardens. It was really pretty, but it wasn't the fish that I promised Haley. Of course the entire time we were there she kept repeating fish! But we had a good time and got some good pictures.

Hanging out in the stroller in front of the pretty flowers.

So cute!

A smile for once!

Both checking out the waterfall!
