A morning at the zoo

On Easter Monday, I volunteered at the zoo. It had been a long time since the last time I had volunteered, maybe since before Haley was born! I took advantage of it and had my dad come along so the kids could go also. Haley did the egg hunt they had, where I was v
volunteering. This was the first time I had seen the orangutans on the O line, it was really cool! Haley enjoyed it as well. Papi hung out with the kids while I spent my time hiding eggs in hay and getting itchy. Haley really enjoyed seeing all the animals and fell asleep in the car on the way home! I think we were all exhausted when we were done.

This is pretty funny. While we were getting ready to go, Haley put her old sunglasses on Kiptyn...notice they are upside down! He didn't care at all either!

Being goofy, but too cute!

Easter-finally!

I finally found the Easter pictures! So it started at church, and then Haley did a church Easter Egg Hunt. Then we went to Mimi and Papi's house where Mimi was still laid up in bed from foot surgery. Auntie Iss and Matt came to join us for dinner. It was yummy. Haley did an egg hunt at the house as well. We dyed eggs after dinner and Haley loved it! After dinner, we headed to go visit Kylie, where we brought her some of our dyed eggs. See the pics on the twins blog.

Easter Egg hunts

We had the FCMOM Easter egg hunt one Saturday morning. It was freezing cold that morning too. It was Haley's first egg hunt of the year, so I wasn't sure how she would do. Let's just say that she picked it up really quickly! She didn't even need my help as to what to do. It was great. This of course started the trend!

Lookin' happy! A smile for once without the eyes closed!

With an overflowing basket!

With Kiptyn (even though he is hard to see)

After the egg hunt, LT called and said there was an egg roll at the government center and he wanted us to meet him there. Ok, fine. Lets just say it was nothing special. We got free egg rolls that tasted horrible! Haley hit a wooden egg down a marked path with a wooden spoon! At one point she put the egg on the spoon and threw it! It was pretty clever. She went in the moon bounce for a little bit until she decided that was enough, but then wanted back in once she was out.

I have no idea how this picture happened and why she actually got that close to the funny looking bunny! Maybe we are overcoming our fear?

Haley's first circus!

One Friday I decided to take Haley to the Big Apple Circus. I thought she would enjoy it. I got my parents to watch Kiptyn as her and I drove to Sterling. We took a shuttle over to the tent and walked on in. Of course she wanted popcorn right away, but mommy wanted cotton candy! Her favorite part of course was the parts with the animals and there was only two short acts with them, one with horses and one with dogs. That was all she talked about. She was too young to really understand just how amazing it really is for these two men to fit their bodies in a tiny can! All in all we had a good time. Maybe next year we will get to go to the Ringling Bros. Circus instead.

On the shuttle, not sure what to make of it all!

Still not sure what to think!

Kinda cool.

And she looks really happy, doesnt she?

Matching!

One day I accidentally dressed Kiptyn and Haley in the same colors, so I decided to make it a small photo shoot at home. Some of them turned out pretty cute until Haley had enough and was goofing around!

Love this one!

Kiptyn's Impedance monitor

Poor little Kiptyn. It was such a rough day for him. He couldn't eat after 6:30am, his appt was at 10:30am. We got to the hospital at 10am and I brought Haley and my mom with me, since it wasn't supposed to be a long appt. We checked in and he got a little bracelet and we sat down to wait for his name to be called. Well we wait at least 45 mins before they even called him back into the room. The nurse was really nice and explained everything that was going to happen. He of course started to get fussy because it had been a long time since he had eaten. He sucked on his paci for a while and then it just got bad. He was screaming at the top of his lungs and was turning bright red. The nurse brought him an apple juice and we had to stick his paci in the apple juice for him to calm down for her to get the probe up his nose and in place. He was not a happy camper, but loved the apple juice. After she put it in place we had to be taken to peds radiology for an xray to see if it was in the right place. We get down there and waited for a bit and then was taken into xray. This was about 2 hours after getting there. Luckily I got him to fall asleep in my arms until I had to put him down for xray. He was fine during the xray and then after we went back upstairs he started to get fussy again so we had to go back to the apple juice. We then found out that the probe had turned up, so she had to take it out and do it again. He didn't mind it happening, he was just starving at this point. She put it in place again and felt it turn up that time, so did it once again. Then we went back down to xray and this time had to wait a while before being taken back because they didnt give me the orders to take with me. He was getting cranky again and it was rough. I felt so bad for him. We made the bottle in hopes to feed it to him, so it was just waiting for them to finish. We got the second xray and she told us that it was in the right place, so I finally fed him at 1:30pm. He was a happy camper after that. We waited some more in the waiting room, while Haley was of course hungry and tired at this point. That was fun as well. My mom then took him back with the nurse and got him all taped up and ready to go. We left the hospital at 2:45pm. It was awful!
Kiptyn slept the entire afternoon he was so tired from all the screaming. Of course he wasn't himself on the monitor, so we didn't get good readings. But apparently all it did tell us was that he has reflux and nothing major is going on. Great. All they did was change him to just on Prevacid twice a day. It helps, but he is still screaming for a while two hours after feedings.

We go to the pulmonologist on Monday, so we will see what she wants to do next.

Will update then with the latest of what is going on.

Here is Kiptyn all hooked up on his monitor sleeping in his car seat. Past the point of exhaustion.

He then even let me move him to his crib and slept great in there too. You can see the monitor that we had to use when he was on it. We hit the feed button when he started and stopped eating. Then hit numbers when he was fussy, noisy breathing, spit up (which he never did on it) and had the hiccups.
